Iron Front: Siege is a tactical military FPS that demands patience, communication, and precision. It sits firmly in the hardcore end of the spectrum — this is not a run-and-gun experience. If you are willing to invest the time to learn its systems, you will find one of the most rewarding shooters in years.
Matches are structured around objective-based scenarios that play out over 20–40 minutes. Teams of five must coordinate roles — breacher, sniper, medic, support, and commander — with each role offering a distinct and meaningful playstyle. The ballistics system is the most realistic in any mainstream FPS, with bullet drop, wind, and material penetration all modelled accurately.
The learning curve is steep, but the game provides an excellent training mode and a genuinely helpful community. Australian servers are well-populated, particularly during evening hours AEST.
Iron Front has rapidly developed a competitive scene in Australia, with the ANZ Iron League running quarterly seasons. The spectator mode is excellent, making it a compelling esport to watch as well as play. Several Australian teams have already qualified for international invitational events.
Iron Front: Siege is not for everyone, but for those who want the most authentic and rewarding tactical FPS experience available, it is unmatched. A must-play for competitive gamers and esports enthusiasts.
